Amigas Coffee Talk with Melissa Armstrong
The Story Behind the Numbers
Thursday, May 28, 2026 | 9:00 – 10:30 AM | Side Pony Coffee & Cocktails
How do identity, life transitions, and lived experience shape the way we build and lead?
Running a business isn’t just about strategy or numbers.
It’s shaped by where you come from, what you’ve been taught and how your needs evolve over time.
For many women, success doesn’t just change with experience. It shifts with life stages, energy, and the quiet realization that what once worked… no longer fits.
Join us for an intimate Amigas Coffee Talk with CPA and founder of SteadyHand Accounting & Advisory, Melissa Armstrong. This conversation blends personal story, career evolution, and a more honest perspective on financial clarity — one rooted in real life, not just business theory.
Meet Melissa
Melissa Armstrong is the founder of SteadyHand Accounting & Advisory, where she helps businesses gain financial clarity and grow with intention.
A third-generation accountant who grew up in Puerto Rico, Melissa began her career in corporate accounting at Deloitte and Plante Moran before expanding into financial planning and advisory.
Throughout her career, she navigated what it meant to succeed within structured corporate environments — including the expectations placed on how to show up, perform, and fit within the system.
After more than 20 years in corporate and client-facing finance, a pivotal transition in 2024 created space for reflection. As her priorities, energy, and needs evolved, she began to rethink what success looked like — not just professionally, but personally.
That shift led her to build something of her own: a firm rooted in human connection, communication, and helping business owners truly understand the story behind their numbers — while creating a business that also supports the life she wants to live.
Her approach blends technical expertise with a deep commitment to empowering clients to make confident, aligned decisions.
What We’ll Talk About
This isn’t a finance workshop.
It’s a conversation about:

• Navigating corporate environments and what it means to adapt within systems that weren’t always built with you in mind
• The experience of showing up as a Latina woman in professional spaces
• Recognizing when something no longer feels aligned, even when it looks successful on paper
• How life transitions like perimenopause and evolving needs can reshape the way we work
• Listening to your body and trusting what it’s telling you
• Taking the leap into entrepreneurship and redefining success on your own terms
• Building a business rooted in clarity, trust, and relationships
• Rethinking how we approach money, work, and growth in a way that actually supports our lives
