Nuanced Beliefs & Behaviors

Fostering Civility, Respect, and Belonging in the Workplace

March 2026 | TARRA | 8:15–10:00am

Start your morning with coffee, connection, and a thoughtful conversation designed for the complexity of today’s workplace. For our March Amigas Coffee Talk, we’re excited to welcome Sumayyah Emeh-Edu, Chief Experience Facilitator at Embedded Consulting, for a session centered on communication, empathy, and navigating difference with intention.

About this Event

In a time of strong beliefs and deeply held ideologies, it’s easy for assumptions and judgments to quietly erode trust, connection, and workplace culture. In this Amigas Coffee Talk, Sumayyah Emeh-Edu invites us to slow down and explore the why behind our beliefs and how greater awareness can lead to more respectful, productive, and human-centered relationships at work and beyond.

Through guided reflection, discussion, and practical tools, participants will examine how individual experiences shape perspective and learn how to engage across difference with curiosity, empathy, and clarity. This session is designed to help attendees bridge divides, strengthen communication, and foster a deeper sense of belonging, at work and beyond.

“Connection grows when we make space for nuance.”

This session will explore:

  • How personal experiences, culture, and cognition shape our beliefs

  • Recognizing bias and challenging assumptions with curiosity

  • Practicing empathy and active listening across differing viewpoints

  • Navigating conflict with grace and intention

  • Creating norms that support civility, respect, and belonging

Whether you’re leading teams, collaborating across differences, or simply seeking to communicate more thoughtfully in today’s environment, this Coffee Talk offers space to reflect, learn, and connect.
